Building and Septic Fees
Building Department staff calculate the final cost of the permit which is payable at the time the permit is picked up. The cost of your building permit will vary depending on the type of use, the type of permit needed and the square footage of your project.
Please note that building and septic application fees will not be required until the permit has been issued and can be paid at time of pickup. When a permit has been issued, the applicant will be contacted by staff with instructions on how to obtain your permit and the applicable fee(s) owing.
Building and Sewage System Application Fee Payment Options
- Cheque payable to Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley (either dropped off at the Main Office, or mailed to 6544 New Dublin Rd, Addison, ON, K0E 1A0;
- In-person via cash or debit at the Main Office located at 6544 New Dublin Rd, Addison, ON, K0E 1A0 (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm);
- Online via online banking. When making payments online, please ensure you use the payment amount and application number that was provided by building staff as the "account number".

These fees include the cost of legal services, reviews of studies, consultant services, administration, education, and promotion activities.
Note #1: The Ministry of the Environment will be responsible for sewage works where the design capacity exceeds 10,000 litres/day under the Ontario Water Resources Act.
Note #2: Tertiary Treatment Systems (Level 4 Treatment) are Ecoflo, Eljen, Waterloo Biofilter, ATL, EnviroSeptic, Norweco, and Biomicrobics and require Maintenance Agreements upon installation completion.
