What does a flashing green light mean? Many drivers don’t know. Green usually means go, but flashing green means please pull over or yield.
Elizabethtown-Kitley firefighters are reminding drivers to pullover and/or yield if they see a vehicle with flashing green lights. It means Volunteer Firefighters are responding on their way to any emergency. It could be you or a loved one next time.
Please yield to flashing green lights in vehicles within Elizabethtown-Kitley and across Ontario roadways.
It isn’t the Law in Ontario for you to pull over or yield for our Volunteers. Volunteers have no special driving privileges. But the green flashing light is used to alert motorists that the vehicle is on its way to an emergency and is allowed under the Highway Traffic Act.
Elizabethtown-Kitley has three volunteer fire stations, Lyn, New Dublin and Frankville. There are seventeen more volunteer fire stations throughout Leeds & Grenville County.
