Household Hazardous Waste Tentative Dates

Household Hazardous Waste Days are organized and hosted by the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.  More information, including who to contact, can be found at www.leedsgrenville.com/en/services/garbage-and-recycling.aspx.


Residents of Leeds and Grenville, Town of Gananoque and Town of Prescott can drop off household hazardous waste free of charge.

Examples of Household Hazardous Waste include the following…

  • Batteries
  • Light bulbs (no ballasts)
  • Propane tanks (small & large)
  • Antifreeze
  • Gas, oil and oil filters
  • Driveway sealer
  • Stains, paint & paint related products
  • Pesticides & fertilizers
  • Pharmaceuticals & sharps
  • Pool chemicals
  • Household cleaning products, i.e., aerosols, bleaches, ammonia, etc.

Not Accepted:

  • Ammunition, explosives, flares, electronics, appliances, tires, construction waste, items containing mercury or PCB’s
  • Commercial and industrial waste will not be accepted
