The Elizabethtown-Kitley Public Library Board is offering a Learn to Grow program to encourage youth to fain knowledge on how to grow plants, and therefore the ability to grow your own food while helping the environment.
At the end of summer, we are going to have a draw with all the participants that send the library a picture of their successful plant. Watch the library’s Facebook page, “Elizabethtown-Kitley Township Public Library”, for updates.
We are glad you have joined us on this growing adventure while helping make our world a better place. If for some reason your seeds do not grow, do not worry or get sad, we have extra seeds available.
Food for Bees and Butterflies
Bees and butterflies love flowers! They both play an important part of keeping our environment producing food for us humans and other wildlife. They keep our ecosystems going by pollination. If you want to see bees and butterflies, you should grow flowers. If you want to help feed these bugs, you should grow sunflowers.
Food for You
If you are feeling hungry and want a snack, we suggest you grow some vegetables and fruits! Each package includes a pot, dirt, seeds, a popsicle stick for labelling and instructions.
