About the Cultural Mapping Project
The Cultural Mapping Project highlights and promotes the cultural assets within our community. We invite you to explore the unique cultural offerings of Elizabethtown-Kitley through this project, which was initiated by the Township’s Heritage Committee and made possible with funding from both the Province of Ontario and the Township. For a comprehensive overview of the project, please check out the Cultural Map Project Overview.
What is Cultural Mapping?
As Jeannette Hanna once said, it's difficult to fully describe the special character of a place when you live there. Cultural mapping is a tool designed to identify and articulate the unique characteristics that define a community. These features contribute to the Quality of Life and the Quality of (Authentic) Place. In essence, cultural mapping helps us define culture as “who we are and what we do.”
Is an Asset Missing from the Cultural Map?
If you notice any errors or omissions, we encourage you to inform us by filling out the form below and submitting it to the Township. Requests for additions to the map will be reviewed by the Heritage Committee and Township Council.
Disclaimer: The Township assumes no liability for errors or omissions in the cultural map. Inclusion of an asset does not imply endorsement, and omission does not diminish the importance of unlisted assets in the community. We recommend verifying all information prior to acting on it.
