The following information pertains to the tax sale process in general. During the tax sale process the municipality makes no representation regarding title to or any other matters relating to the land to be sold. Responsibility for ascertaining these matters rest with the potential purchaser.

To Purchase a Tender Package
If you wish to bid on more than one property, you will require more than one tender package.
The fee for packages, which is $25.00 CAD per package, can be submitted via cheque, internet banking or telebanking.
Paying in Person
To make your payment and pick up the tender package in person please visit our New Dublin office at 6544 New Dublin Road. Cash, cheque and interac payments are accepted at this location.
Paying Via Regular Mail
To submit your tender package payment via regular mail, please direct your payment to:

The Tender Process
Once you have purchased your tender package and have completed the form within the package, ensure that you have placed the roll number and property description of the property you are interested in on the outside of the envelope. Enclose a certified cheque or bank draft representing 20% of your bid, and seal the envelope.
Double Check:
- Have you fully completed the form for each property you are bidding on?
- Have you enclosed your certified cheque/bank draft for 20% of your bid?
- Have you included your telephone number or email address?
- Have you written the roll number and property description of the property on the outside of the envelope?
- Is the envelope sealed?
Submitting a Tender
Once you have completed the steps above, you must submit your tender to the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley. Tenders can be dropped off in person at 6544 New Dublin Road from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Opening the Tenders
(COVID Update) Tender packages will be opened at the Main Municipal Office, 6544 New Dublin Road, however the public is not permitted within the Council Chambers. Those interested in watching a livestream of the opening are can find the meeting link under our News and Notices webpage. A recording will be uploaded after the opening on the Township’s YouTube Channel (Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley Channel).
After the Bid
Those who have bid on properties will be notified as to the tender results. The successful bidder will have 14 days to forward the balance of their bid to the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley. If they should fail to pay the balance of their bid within this time frame, the next highest bidder who enclosed their 20% deposit will be offered the property.
Those bidders who were not successful will have their deposit returned to them via mail or can contact the office for in-person collection.
