Announcing the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley’s 2024 Trades Bursary Winner
The Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley is proud to announce Odessa Stevens was selected as this year’s recipient of the Township’s Trades Bursary. Odessa graduated from Thousand Islands Secondary School last night and will be pursuing an education in Welding and Fabrication at Loyalist College in the fall.
Odessa was praised by teachers for being a hardworking and conscientious student with a natural talent in many trades. During her cooperative education Odessa showed a remarkable resilience and determination, adapting quickly to a rigorous work environment and consistently displaying a high level of competence and professionalism.
The Committee was impressed with Odessa’s application, which represents a well-rounded student with exceptional work ethics, academic achievement, community and school involvement, work experience and certifications. The Economic Development Committee extends congratulations to Odessa and wishes her continued success in her educational endeavours and pursuing a career in trades.
Four submissions for the bursary were received this year. Caitlin Fenn received special recognition from the Committee during the application processing. Caitlin will be pursuing the study of Instrumentation and Control Tech in the fall at Northern College.
