Upcoming Council Meeting: Crystal Energy Storage Project
At the Regular Meeting held on November 13, 2023, Council discussed various options regarding the upcoming second Council meeting of November. The Procedural By-law was temporarily suspended to accommodate an off-site Council. This will be a formal Council meeting, chaired by Mayor Brant Burrow.

Time: 7:00 pm
Location: Toledo Legion, 320 County Road 8, Toledo
Council has approved the number of delegations to be increased to a total of five (5), including representatives from Baseload Power, plus four (4) community delegates. (Baseload Power will be the last (fifth) delegation).
To ensure the process is carried out in a fair and equitable process, the community delegations will be separated into two categories, and selected by a lottery process:
- Two (2) will be requesting to speak in favour of the proposal; and
- Two (2) will be requesting to speak in opposition of the proposal.
Each delegation will be permitted ten (10) minutes, followed by an opportunity for questions by members of Council.
Delegation Requests
Those interested in requesting a delegation, please email the ldrynan@ektwp.ca in confidence by Friday, November 17th at 2:00 pm, including your name and whether you are in favour or opposed to the proposal to ensure I can include you in the appropriate lottery.
Many of you connected with the Township following the Open House on November 2nd requesting a delegation. If you remain interested, a quick confirmation email to ldrynan@ektwp.ca would be appreciated.
Notification of Approved Delegations
All persons/parties who requested a delegation will be notified of the outcome of the lottery process by end of day on Friday November 17th to ensure that you have sufficient time to prepare your materials.
Speaking Notes / Delegation Presentations
To ensure that Council has ample time to review the material in advance of the meeting, delegates selected as part of the lottery process will be requested to submit their speaking notes/presentation by Wednesday, November 22nd at 4:00 pm for inclusion in the agenda package that will be published to the public by 2:00 pm on Friday, November 24th.
Letters/Emails of Support or Opposition
If you do not wish to submit a delegation request, however would like your comments to be included as part of the corporate public record, please ensure it is forwarded to the Administrator (CAO)/Clerk (ldrynan@ektwp.ca) by Wednesday, November 22nd at 4:00 pm.
