Council Approves 2023 – 2026 Strategic Plan

At its September 11, 2023, Council Meeting, Township Council approved the 2023 -2026 Strategic Plan which will act as an overarching reference during Council’s term, defining measurable goals and priorities that will shape the future of Elizabethtown-Kitley.

The Strategic Plan is a roadmap for success, designed to guide decision-making and investments over the next several years, ensuring decisions made today set the course for the community’s desired future. The Plan is designed to ensure that the Township fulfills its vision “to grow a progressive community for today and tomorrow,” and contains strategic priorities, goals and initiatives that will help us to achieve our vision over the Council term and beyond.

“The Strategic Plan sets out the strategic priorities and initiatives that will be achieved year by year. Through regular progress reports provided by Township staff, Council and the community will remain well-informed regarding completed milestones, ongoing initiatives, and upcoming projects,” stated Mayor Brant Burrow. “The Plan is meant to inspire all of us to consider how we can work together to achieve a prosperous and sustainable community. We all have tremendous pride in our community, and we look forward to implementing the Strategic Plan with, and for, you – the residents and businesses of Elizabethtown-Kitley.”

Four foundational areas of focus have been identified. Council believes these are critical to our success. Key initiatives that are targeted for implementation are organized under the following pillars for change.
• Governance & Organizational Management
• Financial Planning
• Process Improvements
• Human Resources

“The Strategic Planning process has been instrumental in establishing Council’s priorities and clear goals that will strengthen and enhance the future of Elizabethtown-Kitley,” stated Administrator (CAO)/Clerk Leslie Drynan. “Thank you to Council for their leadership and dedication throughout the strategic planning process. Township staff look forward to delivering on the Strategic Plan and contributing to building a vibrant community.”
