NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
TOWNSHIP OF ELIZABETHTOWN-KITLEY
CONCERNING PROPOSED OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT No. 6
TAKE NOTICE that the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley intends to amend the Official Plan of the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley and will hold a Public Meeting on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Office located at 6544 New Dublin Road in New Dublin as well as via Council’s virtual zoom meeting process to consider the following applications:
• Purpose and Effect – If approved, the proposed Official Plan amendment will delete Sections 3.7.5.1. 2 and 3.7.6.8 to remove the buildable area restrictions of commercial and industrial buildings constructed on lands designated Rural by the Official Plan. The current restriction is 465 metres (5,000 square feet) and the proposal is to remove these restrictions, while all other policies of the Rural designation will remain unchanged, including the permitted uses in the Rural designation.
Section 5.2.3.9 is also to be deleted. This section attempts to limit development in the rural area to approximately four dwellings, structures or accesses (both existing and potential) per side of the road per kilometre. All other consent polices will remain, including the policy that limits severances in the Township to two per holding and defines a holding as a parcel of land as existing on July 11, 1988.
Lands located throughout the Township could be impacted by the proposed changes to the Official Plan and a Key Map has not been provided.
IF you wish to be notified of the decision on the proposed Official Plan amendments by the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley you must make a written request for such notice to the Clerk, at the address below.
IF a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley before the proposed Official Plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
IF a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley before the Official Plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
