Assessment Centres have been established in the Smiths Falls and Brockville. Appointments are required to visit the centres. Please visit Assessment, Testing and Results – Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit (external link) for further details and booking information.
The public is encouraged to contact their pharmacy to see if they offer testing before booking an appointment at an Assessment Centre.
Most people with mild coronavirus illness will recover on their own but anyone who believes they have the illness are asked to self-isolate. The following symptoms are most common:
- Difficulty Breathing
- Fatigue or weakness including muscle or body aches
- Loss of smell or taste
- Feeling very unwell
Vaccines will be available to residents in Leeds, Grenville & Lanark in stages based in part to vulnerability. Priority groups have begun to receive their vaccinations.
Details on priority groups, how to book appointments and planned phases to vaccinate the general public can be found at https://healthunit.org/health-information/covid-19/protection/. Those requiring assistance in booking an appointment are encouraged to reach out to family and friends for assistance.
As of March 22, 2021, those who have received their vaccinations are still required to following health directives designed to curb the spread of COVID-19. This includes continuing to wear face coverings while in public spaces.
